About me

Hi, I'm Kat (aka Meridrop)! I'm a self-taught Chinese American illustrator based in San Francisco, working across painting, textile art, and installation.

My work is rooted in a childlike longing for both wildness and safety: long days spent outdoors, rolling through fields, picking berries straight from the bush—and the simultaneous wish to return home, eat a hot meal, and crawl under heavy covers. I love drawing whimsical characters, playing with bright colors, and making drawings that kids love.

As an extension of my art practice, I started Meridrop, an illustration-focused clothing brand producing knitted garments and accessories in small batches. Inspired by the dozens of sweaters my grandmother made throughout her life, Meridrop continues that tradition through my own style, translating my illustrations into wearable art.
